My stagename, my moniker, my avatar. All of the things listed above are part of me, as is the monster business I bought, grew and sold. My life experiences; childhood poverty, emergency housing, qualifying at 15 in the beauty industry before being the first in my family to go to university. Working 4 jobs a day to pay for my degree for four years, the teacher I became, my work abroad and finally my journey to entrepreneurship and then coaching.

I am often asked to speak from my experiences; as a women in business, from financially illiterate to a funding and finance expert, as a women in STEM, a business climate champion, an ethnic minority business ally and an angel investor. I speak candidly and authentically. I am the first to share that I learned more from failure than from success along the way. Fiscal failure was the hard lesson I needed to become financially literate and strategically motivated.

I’m a passionate ambassador of failure; I believe we need to normalise it, demystify it and share it so that we can learn from it and help others to do the same.

Oh, and I also support my amazing husband with his business. He was employed when we met and had no self believe in his ability to run a company and go it alone. FF four years and alongside his brother they run an incredibly successful construction industry company whose profits make mine look like pocket money at just nine years old.

Together we enjoy property renovation. We both walked away from equity and failed relationships in 2011 to start again from scratch. We’re on house upgrade number three and this one is a biggie! As children we both grew up with very little; social housing with one parent incomes and hand-me-down clothing the norm.
